About SES

SES Professional service since 1998

About us

Sharples Environmental Services cc (SES) has been actively engaged in the fields of environmental planning, assessment and management since 1998. We operate all over South Africa and have two offices one located in George and one in Cape Town.

We are a service-driven consultancy, typically advising on medium- to large-scale development projects. Our strategy is to consult at a level of efficiency and quality that both meets and exceeds the needs and demands of our diverse client base.

Our Mission

Development should not be a barrier to economic and socio-economic growth. Our mission is to guide the planning and construction of development projects, leading to an appropriate “balance of impacts” so that socio-economic upliftment in the country can be obtained without unacceptable impacts on the social, cultural and biophysical environment.

We strive to protect the environment by undertaking independent environmental impact assessments of the highest quality, in a manner that provides the relevant authorities with accurate and sufficient information to make an informed decision on a development proposal.

We also strive to protect the environment during the construction of developments, by providing valuable input and advice with the aim of first avoiding impacts, and if they are unavoidable, advising clients how they are required to mitigate and manage the impact to the environment.

In addition, we aim to provide the public with early and effective opportunities to participate in the decision-making procedures. We also actively promote and pursue environmental best practice methodologies.
